The European Union (EU) has issued a new law that requires all smartphone companies to enable users to install external applications. Therefore, Apple will also have to comply with the new rules if it wants to continue selling products in the European market.

Apple will allow users to install external apps starting with iOS 17 next year

The new law has set a January 1, 2024 deadline to comply with EU policy, so Apple will have to prepare for the release of iOS 17 in 2023 next year. This is good news for app or game developers as well as users, no longer having to go through the App Store alone.

Developers of games or games may be exempt from the 30% tax levied by Apple, and users may also be free to install external software. However, doing so also has a higher percentage, which can infect your phone as well if you install software from outside that has no clear source.

Thanks to the European Union for enforcing all these rules, because otherwise Apple would have to spend more or less time switching to USB-C ports, as well as allow users to install software from Out soon.
