Samsung Electronics today announced the next-generation 200-megapixel (MP) camera sensor, the ISOCELL HP2, to replace last year's HP1. Samsung claims that although the camera is as large as 200MP, it will be as thick as the 108MP sensor without protruding more.
Last year, the HP1 was not used on Samsung smartphones, however, for the next generation, the HP2 could be used on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The 200MP HP2 camera sensor is 1 / 1.3 "and 0.6μm in size and also comes with the new Dual Vertical Transfer Gate (D-VTG) technology that does not over-illuminate the image during daytime overexposure, but the image at night will Shine better without losing much quality.
Of course, Samsung continues to use the same Advanced Pixel-Binning technology on top of this, resizing the image to 1.2μm 50MP or 2.4μm 12.5MP to help reduce storage space. As a result, the 200MP camera sensor expected to be seen on the new Galaxy S23 Ultra will be able to capture sharper images, shoot brighter in the dark, and still be no larger.
